Man Arrested in Villaba Drug Buy-Bust Operation
Police arrested a 48-year-old man during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Libagong, Villaba, Leyte, on September 21, 2026.
The operation was conducted at around 8:35 p.m. under the supervision of PCAPT Realthur S. Tabernero, Officer-in-Charge of the Villaba Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Police identified the arrested suspect as Loy, 48, a resident of Barangay Libagong. Authorities said the operation targeted alleged illegal drug activity in the area.
During the operation, police reportedly recovered three packages believed to contain shabu, along with ₱500 in buy-bust/marked money and a coin purse containing ₱101 in cash.
Authorities conducted an inventory of the seized items at the scene in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnesses, in accordance with established procedures.
Following the operation, the suspect and the confiscated evidence were brought to the Villaba Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165).
The police said the seized substance remains subject to laboratory examination by the Regional Forensic Unit 8 to determine its exact weight and confirm its composition.
The case remains under investigation, and the suspect will face the appropriate legal proceedings based on the evidence gathered by authorities.
